The past few years we have been working hard to find alternatives to things in our pantry and cupboards that are packed with many preservatives and other unwanted ingredients. One of those things happened to be our favorite seasoning; ranch seasoning. We use it in a few staple recipes in our house; so finding a clean alternative was a must for us. We had tried so many recipes and while they were ok, we hadn’t found one that we felt was great. Which led me to try and make our own, this is the closest thing we have come to and it is absolutely delicious!
I like to store our remaining seasoning in a Weck Jar, it is keeps well in this airtight container.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried dill
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried chives (freeze dried)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients: dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, dried chives, salt, black pepper, paprika, dried thyme, and dried oregano.
- Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. You can adjust the amounts of each ingredient according to your taste preferences.
- Store the homemade ranch seasoning in an airtight container or a small jar with a tight-fitting lid. We keep ours in the fridge since that is where we keep our dried chives.
I love to store our remaining seasoning in a Weck Jar. They are the cutest jars and we love how sustainable they are with all of the reusable parts! We hope you enjoy this seasoning as much as we have! Stay tuned for another post on how we turn this seasoning into ranch dressing!
